Ways to remove toxins from the body

These lifestyle changes typically involve abstention from certain harmful things and optimization of the body's processes. Some changes are temporary, like following a cleansing diet, others are permanent.

Toxins are any substance that can be poisonous or cause negative health effects. "Toxin" refers to all metals, chemicals, contaminants, artificial food ingredients, pesticides and poisons that cause bodily harm.

"Toxin" is a very broad term and even, unfortunately, it becomes a buzzword for some. Artificially created chemicals can be toxins, but natural substances can also be toxic. Arsenic is a natural toxin.

Technically, so is snake venom (although this is less likely to contaminate your city's water supply).

We are in constant contact with harmful and polluting organisms. They are in our water, in our food and in the air we breathe; It is very difficult to get away from them. The source of many health problems are the toxins that have accumulated in our bodies over the years.

There is no practical way to protect yourself from all toxins in the environment. You should live the rest of your life in a sealed suit (and it would be a short life since you can not eat or drink).

Fortunately, there are ways to counteract some toxins and contaminants. The natural processes of detoxification of your body exist to deal with those we can not avoid. You can help your body perform these processes with the help of regular cleansing.

The body and detoxification

The body has several systems to eliminate waste. The excretory system plays the most important role in detoxification. The most obvious work of this system is defecation and urination. The main organs that make up the excretory system are the skin, the liver, the lungs, the large intestine and the kidneys.

You may be surprised to know that your skin is part of your excretory system, but it is true: the skin helps elimination through the sweat glands. The purpose of sweating is to regulate body temperature, but it is a multifunctional system. When the sweat passes through your sweat glands, take toxins with it.

The roles of the other organs are equally important. It is the task of the liver to filter and excrete debris, hormones, drugs, and other foreign substances. The lungs help to eliminate carbon dioxide (the residual gas resulting from respiration).

The large intestine has several important jobs: It absorbs water and the remaining nutrients from food. It also converts waste into feces to be expelled from the body through defecation. The kidneys filter the blood and help eliminate body waste through urination.

The whole body is based on this system to live a healthy life. Your body is detoxifying all the time, 24 hours a day. Even your brain releases toxins while you sleep. It is essential to take care of these organs and allow them to do their work.

Ways to Detoxify Your Body

1. Choose the right foods

One of the best things you can do to support the detoxification process of your body is to lighten your load and decrease the toxins you put in your body in the first place. Choose organic vegetables and fruits over fast food and other processed foods. Transgenic products and food contaminated with pesticides add harmful toxins to your diet.

2. Exercise and meditation

Exercise and meditation help maintain a healthy body. Exercise helps you sweat, and sweat helps release toxins through the skin. Studies have found traces of arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury in sweat. Meditation helps you clear your mind and reduce stress. Stress can be as toxic to your health as chemicals. A troubled mind can cause the physical body to malfunction.

3. Diet

Detoxifying your body is not only about what it avoids but also about what it consumes. Following a healthy diet can go a long way. There are also many foods that help with detoxification: garlic, lemon, broccoli sprouts, mung beans and raw vegetables.

Many diets promote cleansing and detoxification. You can also try a raw alkaline diet. It is a temporary cleaning that consists of fruits, raw vegetables and raw nuts.

4. Replace a meal each day with a detoxifying shake

When it comes to natural body cleansing a great deal can be replacing one meal a day with a detoxifying shake. This is not extreme and will not cause any harm, but it can be exceptional to get rid of substances that your body does not need.

Green milkshake
  • 1 cup of cabbage or green cabbage tightly packed, stems removed, coarsely chopped (4 ounces)
  • 1 apple cut into large pieces
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley leaves

Combine the kale, apple, banana, parsley and 2 1/4 cups of water in a blender; Mix until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more water.

5. Turn to organic food when possible

While you do not have to eat just organic, there are certain foods where this is a necessity. The food list known as "Dirty Dozen" contains a list of foods where pesticides and preservatives can accumulate and therefore be consumed and ingested by you during digestion.

The general rule is that if you eat the peel or the outside of the fruit or vegetable you really should opt for organic. Strawberries, apples and tomatoes are good examples of the types of foods in which organic matter really matters.

6. A good and intense massage

We tend to think of massage as a relaxing luxury, which of course can be in some cases, also happens to be a good way to detoxify the body.

Suffice it to say that if you are interested in getting rid of toxins in the body, it is absolutely necessary to perform good intense massage that focuses heavily on the pressure points within the body. A typical Swedish massage is good, but something more intense and focused like a sports massage can work even better.
